This is the first post. Hopefully of many to come on the all-new Word on AI website.
It's nice to meet you. I hope you will enjoy reading the articles I will be posted here. I'm researching the best tools that are available today and what's going on in our wonderful world of technology, and more specifically within the area of artificial intelligence (AI). It's fascinating to me as so much is happening now with it and it's quickly evolving.
It amazes me to see how far we've come over the last few years. I recently discovered Chat GPT and was impressed by the free version. After playing around with it, I noticed that it hasn't been updated since January of 2022, which made me wonder if there was a newer paid version out.
My thought is that it's best to have the most recent information, and if that's available with a paid subscription, but not the free version than I want to have a paid version. Before investing funds, I decided to see what competitor tools are available besides Chat GPT and try to figure out which of them is truly the best. This quest led me to try out Microsoft's Copilot.
There are pro versions it seems for all of the free tools, and the pro versions are more up to date and have additional features that are not available in the free versions. Some of those added features make it worth the monthly price to have the use of them. I'm still studying the features before I ultimately decide which one I'll choose to purchase. When I bite the bullet and buy, I'll share which one made the cut for me.
I noticed that the photos I generated with the Copilot software that's included in Wix (the site builder I'm using to build this site) produced really good images. I'm very happy with the Home page image I generated after a few tries within Wix. The image on the top of this post was generated directly from Microsoft Copilot's page, and it took more description and tries for it to produce what I was envisioning than the photo on the home page that I generated directly from within the WIX website builder. Either there's a difference in the versions from what's free with Copilot and what WIX has, or it was beginner's luck. Digital images are important. Most of us like the visuals to break up our reading.
It's amazing how the browsers (Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome) are offering free versions of their AI tools to everyone, and a little scary as well. I'm wondering if there will be less traffic for blogs like this as a result of the AI generated searches that are now available. Hopefully, folks will still want to read articles that are written by real people. I know I do!
What are your thoughts on what's happening currently with AI? Are you all for it, or worried that it's going to have negative impacts and could do more harm than good? I think it's here to stay and there's no going back. Whether that's a good thing or bad, time will soon tell us. Please leave a comment below to share your point of view.
